New Question re: Web Server

Postby ptm » Tue Feb 02, 2010 2:51 pm

Completely green on the topic, so apologies to all if this is a rehash or seems ridculous.

1. I have set my Web Server port to 225, started the server and I get a message "Web Server Started."
What else needs to be done to get the web server started? I tried to point to [external IP address]:225 from the host computer and I get a "this webpage cannot be displayed" error so it seems that web server isn't running?

2. Do I need to configure ScanCast if all I am looking to do is stream to one other remote computer (mine)?

3. I have port forwarding issues on the other side, but I'm only starting with my Web Server questions at this point.

Any and all help appreciated.

The router port fowarding needs to be setup on the Web Server side to pass port 225. ScanCast is seperate then the Web Server and does not need to be setup.

Also if you have multiple firewalls, it's recommended that only one should be enabled.
For troubleshooting purposes, I would disable them all untill you get it working.
